Beide Männer arbeiteten früher für das weltberühmte Weingut Cloudy Bay. Nachdem sie das dieses verlassen hatten, begann das Duo mit der Herstellung von Weinen aus Sutherlands eigenen Weinbergen im Wairau Valley, die in den 1970er und 80er Jahren gepflanzt wurden. Dieses Gebiet war historisch gesehen die Heimat der Schafzucht. Der Name des Weinguts stammt von einer wilden Hundebande, die hier lebte und von entlaufenen Hirtenhunden abstammte. Dank der kühlen Nächte, reichlich Sonnenschein im Sommer und geringen Niederschlägen sind die Bedingungen ideal für die Herstellung von köstlichem Sauvignon Blanc. Der Großteil der Früchte wird im Talboden angebaut und von Hand gelesen. In der Kellerei angekommen, werden die Trauben mit so wenig Eingriffen wie möglich behandelt. Für ihren Sauvignon Blanc wird der Most in Edelstahltanks vergoren, um die Frische und Aromatik zu erhalten. Lebendige Passionsfrucht, Zitronenschalen, Grapefruit und ein Hauch von Feuersteinmineralität bestimmen das Bouquet, während der erste Schluck einen leichten Körper, köstliche Frische und einen reinen, sauberen Abgang offenbart. Der helle, erfrischende Charakter dieses Weins macht ihn zu einem großartigen Aperitif oder Partner für Sushi, Meeresfrüchte, Salate und Fischgerichte.Shipping Notes
