Die Mainmetropole Frankfurt kann auf eine lange Geschichte und interessante Entwicklung des öffentlichen Personennahverkehrs zurückblicken. Im Jahr 1872, als die ersten Gleise der neuen Pferdebahnlinie verlegt wurden, zählte man gerade einmal 100.000 Einwohner. Und von diesen konnten sich damals nur relativ wenige eine Fahrt mit diesem neuen Gefährt leisten.
1898 begann dann die Stadt Frankfurt am Main als Konzessionär, die Strecken der Pferdebahn zu elektrifizieren, sodass im Jahr 1899 die erste elektrische Straßenbahn durch die Stadt fahren konnte. Das war der Beginn des städtischen Straßenbahnbetriebes, Vorläufer der Stadtwerke Frankfurt am Main und der heutigen Verkehrsgesellschaft Frankfurt am Main.
Als 1925 die ersten acht Omnibusse in Dienst gestellt wurden, war bereits ein weit verzweigtes Straßenbahnnetz in Betrieb. Bus und Straßenbahn bilden seither ein gut funktionierendes Team, das später im Jahr 1968 durch die U-Bahn noch ergänzt wurde.
Unser Autor Peter F. Linhart hat in seinem eigenen sowie in Archiven von Freunden und Bekannten nach Zeitdokumenten des städtischen Verkehrsbetriebes gesucht und dabei viele bisher unveröffentlichte Bild- und Textdokumente gefunden, die er in diesem Buch zusammengestellt hat. Von den Anfängen bis zur Gegenwart werden alle Straßenbahn- und Omnibustypen gezeigt, die unter städtischer Regie durch Frankfurt/M. fuhren bzw. fahren.

Quality Holder

Very quality holder and very sturdy and stable. I purchased it back in April, and it has been holding up nicely. I would definitely say that it is worth the price. I love that it's adjustable, so if I ever decide I want to new PC case, I can still use it (as long as it fits the dimensions of the holder). Putting it together and mounting it was simple. The only reason I'm giving 4 stars is that it did not come with screws, and I had to purchase some. I hope that has been changed since then.

Nice and sturdy.

This system worked for what I needed. The metal wire trays are well-made and big enough to handle larger power strips. I was concerned when ordering it, as I have had to return several in the past, from other companies that were just too small. These, along with the wire holders, made channeling the wires behind my desk rather easy.
