NSU TT Joachim ThomasDas Originalfahrzeug wurde 1977 als Serienfahrzeug erworben und dann umgehend für NAVC (Neuer Automobil- und Verkehrsclub e.V.) Slaloms zum Gruppe-2-Fahrzeug aufgerüstet. Zu den zahlreichen Klassensiegen von Joachim Thomas zählt auch die Deutsche NAVC Slalommeisterschaft 1985. Nach diversen Siegen von 1986 bis 1992 bei den NAVC Bergslaloms und einer mehrjähriger Pause wurde der NSU zwischen 2000 und 2008 komplett in alle Einzelteile zerlegt. Ab Mitte 2008 nahm der neu zusammengesetzte, 612 Kilogramm leichte und rund 120 PS starke NSU an dem NAVC Heck-Motor-Berg-Cup erfolgreich teil. Den diversen Klassensiegen folgte 2009, weiterhin mit der auf dem Modell umgesetzten Dekoration, der souveräne Sieg des Heck-Motor-Berg-Cups.
