Who are Jack and Sally?
A great hit since its release in 1993, The Nightmare Before Christmas—distributed and licensed by Walt Disney Pictures since 2006—is a stop-motion fantasy musical produced by the iconic filmmaker Tim Burton with a memorable score by Danny Elfman. The story follows the skeletal Jack Skellington, the "Pumpkin King," the star of Halloween Town's annual festivities. However, weary and bored of the same monotonous Halloween celebrations, Jack wanders through his spooky town until he stumbles upon Christmas Town. Intrigued by this newfound holiday, he resolves to bring scary toys to the children of the human world and take on the role of Santa Claus. Meanwhile, Sally, a patchwork doll stuffed with dead leaves, begins to develop romantic feelings for Jack. Sally was created by Dr. Finklestein, a mad scientist who is secretly in love with her, and for that reason stops her from leaving home and talking to other townsfolk. With the ability to foresee disasters, she fears Jack’s plans will lead to calamity, and since she’s also an amateur toxicologist, she uses her skills to escape captivity. Joining Jack is his loyal ghost-dog, Zero, with a tiny glowing nose.

Elegantly dressed in his traditional black pinstriped tailcoat with a bat-shaped bowtie, he takes his place at the peak of the hill beside his loyal ghost-dog companion. Holding the hand of his beloved, a patchwork figure with blue-toned skin and flowing red hair, he places his right hand over his chest, poetically sharing his dreams. Inspired by one of the iconic posters of the film, with a base brimming with scenic details evoking its unique atmosphere, such as Halloween pumpkins, crooked fences, and twisted structures.
