The Caperdonich Distillery was originally better known as Glen Grant number 2. Built in 1898 by the founders of the Glen Grant Distillery but was closed after only being in production for 4 years. It sat dormant till 1965 when Glenlivet Distillers Ltd rebuilt the distillery. By that time, British law prohibited simultaneously operating distilleries from using the same name, and Glen Grant #2 was reopened as "Caperdonich". The distillery was only run by two people and the owners Pernod Ricard closed and demolished the distillery in 2010.

This single malt whisky was distilled in 2000 at the Caperdonich Distillery in the Speyside region of Scotland. It was then placed in a single Hogshead for no less than 22 years. Bottled with natural colour and no chill-filtration at 55% ABV from cask number 29493 as part of the Signatory Vintage Cask Strength Collection. Only 250 bottles were produced. A rare chance to grab and taste a piece of Scottish whisky history or add it to your collection as one day they'll all disappear.

Signatory Vintage are an independent bottler founded in 1988 by Andrew and Brian Symington. The name ‘Signatory’ was derived from the initial intention to find a person of suitable standing to sign the labels for bottles drawn from a single cask. The first cask bottled was a 1968 Glenlivet which quickly sold through long before any suitable signee could be found.

Signatory currently bottle at three strengths: 43%, 46% Unchillfiltered (UCF) and Cask Strength. To add proof of authenticity to their cask strength bottlings, Signatory always include the cask numbers, date of distillation, date of bottling and number of bottles produced.

Nose - It starts fruity and juicy, quince and peaches, Manuka honey sweetness and creamy vanilla. Freshly baked bread with some creamy coconut notes slightly floral, almost like flowers on a meadow. There's also some aromas of mint.

Palate - Ripe bananas and freshly cut oranges, sweet and fruity, vanilla and white pepper, coconut and polished oak. Thick, chewy and waxy.

Finish - Long with plenty of fruity sweet notes, mint and a hint of white pepper.

Brilliant design and features.
Color: Black
Far better than yesteryears models. Very powerful with a lot of cork torque! The long USB cord is a HUGE plus to reach distant outlets. Charging base is another big plus. Don't forget to see the video of the girl who is promoting it but cannot figure out how to use it!! Hilarious.

Best Wine Opener We’ve Tried
Color: Black
My husband and I like to think of ourselves as wine connoisseurs, and over the years we’ve been through dozens of wine openers. So far, this one is our favorite. It’s pure magic—smooth, easy, and reliable every time. The charging base keeps everything organized. We’ve been using it for several months now without a single issue. It feels well-made and has definitely earned a permanent spot on our counter. It works so seamlessly that now we both want to open the wine.

A Surprisingly Premium, No-Nonsense Corkscrew That Just Works
Color: Silver, Number of Items: 1
I’ve gone through more corkscrews than I care to admit. Some cute, some clever, some that looked great on the countertop but absolutely fell apart the second they met a stubborn cork. This opener immediately impressed me with how solid and dependable it feels. The zinc alloy gives it a weight and sturdiness that you notice the moment you pick it up, and it has that “built to last” vibe you don’t usually get at this price point. What I love most is that there’s no learning curve, no gimmicks, and no unnecessary parts that will eventually loosen or snap. It’s the kind of tool that feels familiar but elevated. The turning mechanism is smooth, controlled, and surprisingly effortless, even on older bottles where the cork can be unpredictable. The wings rise evenly, don’t wobble, and give you a ton of leverage, so removing the cork feels almost too easy. It also doubles as a great bottle opener, and I appreciate that it actually feels like a bottle opener you can trust rather than a flimsy add-on tucked in as an afterthought. If you want something flashy for your bar cart, this may not be the centerpiece. But if you’re looking for a reliable, heavy-duty corkscrew that quietly outperforms the pretty ones, this is it. An incredibly solid value and easily one of the most dependable openers I’ve owned.
