Orange Vigor isopods are a highly favored ornamental species. While they do great as bioactive tank mates, many people collect this variety and many others for fun. 

Armadillidium vulgare isopods do best in a moderately dry enclosure, with a nice wet area or two to retreat to for shedding their exoskeleton, and to aid in breathing. A. vulgare may eat certain species of plants in terrariums if they do not get enough food otherwise, which can be prevented by providing dead leaf litter and other botanicals.
