The Gardener’s Scarf by Maxim Cyr is a great way to showcase the beauty of your favourite colour-changing yarn, like a Dyed in the Wool skein from Spincycle Yarns, in a fresh and unexpected way. The trellis stitch is well suited for making the most of your skein: a small yardage goes a long way.

The design is a simple stockinette rectangle with ribbing at both ends. The magic happens with your contrasting yarn: you will slip it in front of the work and catch that float a few rows later to knit it into your fabric, creating a striking effect that resembles a garden trellis.

The kit includes the following colourways in the required quantities on BFL Sock from Les Garçons and Dyed in the Wool from Spincycle Yarns. The pattern is not included; it is available in our shop or on Ravelry.

Yarn A (3 skeins, 100 g, BFL Sock): “Cardi’s Ochrrre
Yarn B (1 skein, 50 g, Dyed in the Wool): “Afternoon Delight

Not a Users Guide
Format: Paperback
Although many readers may find this book useful, it describes a particular approach to Powerpoint. It is not anything like a comprehensive users guide.

Just linear
Format: Paperback
I appreciate that it helps to organize the chaos of information, but I just used the template verbatim with my manager and it did not go very well. He said this linear approach does not work anymore with high-level corporate audiences. They want to cut right to the chase and start to dig into the deep details. This layout with simple images, even if you just pull away the map and anchor slides, makes the storytelling too much like a story, not giving enough credit to the speed at which certain audiences can and do process data on a slide. It was an interesting exercise and I still think this linear layout works in some cases. Just not if you are trying to communicate business case or other C-suite type of information.
