Description

Norman Bruhn - The War & The RazorOn 22 June 1927 gunshots rang out in Darlinghurst ad Norman Bruhn fell to the ground. What would follow has come to be known as the Razor Wars, and they drenched the 1930's with bloody gangland feuds with a fortune in sly grog, cocaine, prostitution and standover money hanging in the balance. Since that day, Norman Bruhn has gone down in history as the founder and architect of Razor Gangs, and an organised criminal who had all of Sydney on its knees.

On 22 June 1927 gunshots rang out in Darlinghurst ad Norman Bruhn fell to the ground. However, the truth of Norman Bruhn's life is far grittier and even more unbelievable that that of being yet another a high-stakes organised criminal. Instead, his story is one that takes you on the full journey of his life in a way that gives context to how he became the most notorious criminal in Sydney by the middle of 1927. After going over the top in the trenches of Gallipoli and France in the First World War, his PTSD, untreated physical illnesses and connection to Squizzy Taylor paved a way for him that he would never be able to return from. The ending of his life coincides and overlaps with the murder of Squizzy Taylor in October that same year in a truly unbelievable chain of events that defy belief.
