Woolworth heiress Barbara Hutton's life is usually painted as tragic, but there were triumphs as well. She was a creative, intelligent woman, well-educated and well-traveled, a connoisseur of the arts, and an insightful writer (as her journals and these poems illustrate). She possessed an insatiable curiosity about people and a surprising amount of compassion for a person born of her station in the era in which she came of age.

throughout her life she was alternately known as the "Poor Little Rich Girl" and "The Million-Dollar Baby (From the Five-and-Ten-Cent Store)." Less known was the fact that the Woolwroth heiress was a gifted amateur poet who self-published two volumes of her writing: THE ENCHANTED in 1934, and THE WAYFARER in 1957.

Barbara had her first volume of verse, entitled THE ENCHANTED, self-published under the name "Barbara Mdivani" by R. Maclehose & Co., a small press unofficially affiliated with the University of Glasgow. THE ENCHANTED appeared shortly before her twenty-second birthday.

Dean Southern Jennings, in his 1968 biography of Barbara, wrote, "Anyone interested in analysing the complex personality of that was and is Barbara Hutton would find innumerable clues in this book. All the disillusionment, the self-recrimination, the sadness and loneliness of Barbara Hutton are mirrored in THE ENCHANTED--perhaps the Disenchanted would have been more apt--and if she ever felt temptedto produce an autobiography, which seems unlikely, she could very well say it had already been written."

Various accounts state THE ENCHANTED was printed in an edition of either fifty, seventy-five or two hundred copies (THE WAYFARER was printed in an edition of two hundred copies), all of which Hutton distributed to members of her family and friends.

Because of the of copies of THE ENCHANTED and THE WAYFARER Barbara's skills as a writer have gone largely unseen and unknown; in fact, with the exception of excerpts froma few of the verses reproduced in biographies such as C. David Heymann's POOR LITTLE RICH GIRL: THE LIFE AND LEGEND OF BARBARA HUTTON they have remained hidden for nearly six decades.

This then marks the first time that Barbara Hutton's poetry is being widely distributed and as a result the first time her talents have a real audience. We sincerely hope you enjoy these poems.

Fit and comfort
Size: 12, Color: Ch British Tan/Ivory
These have to rate as equal to any shoes I've ever owned. I know everyone's foot is shaped differently but when I slipped my feet into these I was immediately sure I had made the correct choice. Sizing is true. You note, I'm sure, that these are slip-on shoes. My experience with slip-ons has been mixed as sometimes the heel tends to slip due to the maker leaving room for the slip-on function to take place. When I got these I discovered that the opening for my feet was so tight I needed to shoe-horn them in and it wasn't particularly easy. The heel counter was "high and tight" but once I got my feet in the shoes it was heaven. Then, after a couple of days wearing them I can now slip my feet into these slip-ons with ease and the shoes grip my feet like a lace-up shoe can do. I have one other pair of Cole Haans in the same size 12. They are also a wonderful fit for me. I highly recommend.

Great shoes true to size
Size: 11, Color: Ivory/Microchip/Ivory, Size: 11, Color: Ivory/Microchip/Ivory
Great shoes, came with box. Brand new, true to size 11 US ! :) in my country they cost 270 USD so, really nice and very comfortable shoe considering i have plantar fasciitis. 3 month update: They get wrinkles pretty fast in just a few weeks due to the material, it’s not noticeable to others at all, but it’s worth keeping this in mind when buying this particular model.

High Quality Lenses & High Fashion Design from QUAY
Color: Dark Tort/Green, Polarization Type: Non-Polarized, Lens Width: 50 Millimeters, Color: Dark Tort/Green, Polarization Type: Non-Polarized, Lens Width: 50 Millimeters
These QUAY sunglasses are truly high quality for a price you can’t beat. The Polycarbonate is inlaid with a metal frame to ensure a proper fit, and durability. The lenses have a clarity level that breaks up light waves centered to the retina preventing migraines for me during long durations of use. I can tell the light waves are evenly distributed because cheap sunglasses give me a headache due to my astigmatism. As far as looks go, these have a beautiful tortoise shell design with dark hues of brown, and tan. The gloss finish is one of my favorite things about these sunglasses, allowing me to match it with my hat, shirt and jewelry. I’m very impressed with the quality of these glasses and even after 3+ months of use, the lenses are unscathed (see photos). Each lens is high quality and has taken impacts, and hasn’t scratched much but I also make sure I keep them in the soft case that is also included with these sunglasses. Other notable items are the soft case, owners manual, and microfiber cloth. They include everything I needed and wanted to make sure my sunglasses last, and stay in good condition. Great job QUAY!!!!

Comfortable QUAY quality sunglasses
Color: Dark Tort/Green, Polarization Type: Non-Polarized, Lens Width: 50 Millimeters
QUAY is one of my favorite sunglass brands and these sunglasses definitely don't disappoint! They're very comfortable and fit well on my face. They're lightweight which I love but also have the quality I have come to expect from QUAY. The only thing that would make me like them more is if the lenses were a little darker.. I prefer darker lenses as I have very light sensitive eyes.
