Now available in paperback, the "fresh and fascinating" (The Plain Dealer, Cleveland), "splendid and brilliant" (Philadelphia Daily News) history of the early game by the Official Historian of Major League Baseball. Who really invented baseball? Forget Abner Doubleday at Cooperstown and Alexander Cartwright. Meet Daniel Lucius Adams, William Rufus Wheaton, and other fascinating figures buried beneath the falsehoods that have accrued around baseball's origins. This is the true story of how organized baseball started, how gambling shaped the game from its earliest days, and how it became our national pastime and our national mirror. Baseball in the Garden of Eden draws on original research to tell how the game evolved from other bat-and-ball games and gradually supplanted them, how the New York game came to dominate other variants, and how gambling and secret professionalism promoted and plagued the game. From a religious society's plot to anoint Abner Doubleday as baseball's progenitor to a set of scoundrels and scandals far more pervasive than the Black Sox Fix of 1919, this entertaining book is full of surprises. Even the most expert baseball fan will learn something new with almost every page.Binding Type: Paperback

Durable and solid construction!
Size: Extra Large Size 4, Color: Rainbow, Size: Extra Large Size 4, Color: Rainbow
Colorful, easy to inflate, durable. Arrived quickly and excellent condition. My dog really enjoys her play time with it. I have a mixed breed border collie and she has been giving this ball a run for the money! My dog is 30 lb, we ordered the extra large size.

Dogs only toy that has not broken.
Size: Extra Large Size 4, Color: Rainbow
I've ordered them in 6, 7, and 8 inches I think. She is an aggressive chewer who had destroyed every toy I've given her. But not these! She has chewed off every strap which I've promptly taken from her to avoid her eating them. But the ball itself is chew resistant! I use the small 6" one to play around inside with her and the larger ones to play outside. My puppy absolutely loves playing "soccer" with these. Worth the money IMO.

Pup loves this!
Size: 6 Inch, Color: Red
This soccer ball is so cute. My dog loves to play with these. The straps are durable, easy to pump up (they come with a pump), good value for the money since they tend to last awhile, at least for us. The straps are durable but could be an issue if your dog is an aggressive chewer. They stay pumped up for quite awhile and just need to be topped off once in awhile to keep the bounce there. We keep them outside even in the winter and they do just fine. HIghly recommend as a good play toy.

Great Ball
Size: 6 Inch, Color: Red
Our Little Goldendoodle Loves this ball & I like that it has so many straps to grab so I'm not getting the slimy part. It does not come already inflated so make sure you or a neighbor have an air compressor to blow it up because even though it came with a little pump I can't imagine how many weeks I'd have been pumping that without noticing any difference.
