Original conte crayon drawing by Paul Desmond Brown (1893-1958) depicting a polo match with :

James Watson Webb II (known as James Sr.) (July 1, 1884 – March 4, 1960) was an American polo champion and insurance executive. He was a grandson of William Henry Vanderbilt and James Watson Webb.

In 1921, and, again in 1924 and 1927, he played on the American polo team that won the International Polo Cup from England at the Meadowbrook Polo Club. His teammates in 1921 were Louis Ezekiel Stoddard, Thomas Hitchcock, Jr., and Devereaux Milburn. His teammates in 1924 were Hitchcock, Malcolm Stevenson, Robert Early Strawbridge, Jr. and Milburn, and in 1927, they were Hitchcock, Stevenson and Milburn. The Cup was the most anticipated event on the sporting calendar in the United States in the 1920s and 1930s.

Webb, a left hander, was named America's all-time all-star polo team in 1934 by Louis E. Stoddard, chairman of the United States Polo Association.

Vs:

Colonel Eric Garnett Atkinson MVO, (9 April 1887 – 1955) was a British-Indian soldier and an India 9-goal polo player. He competed in the 1924 and 1927 International Polo Cup.

Played Polo for England in 1924 and 1927 against the United States.

It was decided for the first post-war international match with America for the Westchester Cup that the Hurlingham Club should be represented by a team from the Army in India. This decision was prompted not only by reason of the lack of players then in England, but doubtless also by the high standard already attained by many Indian Cavalry players.

wonderful trans sapphic shifter romance
Format: Kindle
When life falls apart, perhaps taking a break is just what is needed. But when Natalie (said trans woman) and Wren (loner alpha wolf) first see each other, it seems that perhaps that there might be something between them, but that just makes everything a lot more complicated. After all, a bond between a human and a wolf isn't a thing, is it? This was a wonderful read and I absolutely loved this story. Yes, while I may have a strong like of shifter stories, that also means that I also have expectations, and this story most definitely exceeded them. The trans representation was great. Natalie's struggles for acceptance, both internal and external resonating, and the difficulties that she's been through definitely resonate and are far too common of trans people. She's not a strong confident lead, but a woman who has issues and who does need the help and strength of others. She leans on others for better or for worse, but that makes her more real, and seeing her grow and become more confident as the story progresses is heart warming and wonderful. And the development of the bond - very nice! Wren is just as much a flawed character, with what's she's been through, and the knowing of the knowledge that she lacks. She starts off strong, as one would expect from a werewolf, but she also grows, becoming more than what she was in the beginning as well. For all of the angst and mistakes that are made, this is a story of growth and acceptance, of being able to gain what you actually desire, and to be able to embrace the support of others, knowing that you aren't alone in the world. It is a tale of finding love, of having a bond form, and being able to take it to the next level. This really is a wonderful sapphic shifter story, and one that I would highly recommend.

Wow!
Format: Kindle
Natalie desperately needs a change to get over her messy breakup. Wren is a lone wolf. She is an Alpha and has no pack to run with. With so many things at stake, will their affair end in disaster or have they found what they’ve been looking for? I loved this fresh take on shifters with the variety of shapeshifters, the dangerous hunt and the great romance. It made this story a fantastic read and an emotional rollercoaster.

Great shifter story with unique twist
Format: Kindle
The story and characters were great. It was great to finally find a sapphic story with a trans character who was pre-op or in this case just no-op. So many authors don't want to have a trans character unless she's had surgery, like another woman won't want you if you have your original parts. Thank you so much Mrs. Abbott for the trans representation on this front. Nat and Wren are wonderful together, and I love how Wren does her best to make sure Nat doesn't ever feel less than or wrong for being herself. I am curious how being a shifter will effect Nat's transition moving forward. Hopefully there is another book and it touches on it a little.
