The Libec H45 Professional Fluid Head paired with the Libec PH-6B Extendable Pan Handle. This specific setup is a seventy-five millimeter dual-base fluid head designed to support mid-sized digital cinema rigs, fully accessorized large-sensor cameras, and compact shoulder-mounted broadcast configurations.

Core Engineering & Performance Design

1. Universal Dual-Base Interface

The standout feature of the H45 is its integrated dual-head base design. The bottom of the head features a seventy-five millimeter half-ball shape that drops directly into standard video tripod bowls. However, it also features a completely flat machined bottom surface with a standard three-eighths inch sixteen mounting thread. This dual profile allows an operator to move the head off its tripod legs and mount it directly onto flat-base production gear like camera sliders, skater dollies, or cranes without needing separate conversion adapters.

2. Perfect Continuous Counterbalance

Unlike budget fluid heads that rely on fixed, stepped counterbalance settings, the H45 utilizes a continuous internal spring mechanism. This design provides precise tuning for payloads up to twenty-six point five pounds or twelve kilograms. An illuminated zero-to-one-hundred scale meter on the back allows you to instantly track the tension setting, making it easy to return to a recorded value when swapping back to a previously balanced lens configuration. Once balanced, the camera stays completely stationary at any tilt angle without creeping or snapping back when you let go of the handle.

3. Advanced Multilayered Drag Control

The panning and tilting drag systems are built from layered metal modules coated in specialized silicon grease, providing smooth starts and preventing physical backtracking or play. The head offers four distinct settings, which are zero free mode plus three selectable levels of progressive fluid torque resistance. This allows you to scale the friction to match the speed of your track or the focal length of your lens, performing smoothly across a wide temperature range from negative forty degrees to positive one hundred and forty degrees Fahrenheit.

4. Telescopic Command with the PH-6B

The included Libec PH-6B is a premium telescopic pan handle that upgrades the operating interface. It features an ergonomic rubber handle grip over a rigid aluminum shaft. By loosening its mechanical compression collar, you can adjust the physical handle length anywhere from eleven point six inches to nineteen point seven inches. Extending the handle provides greater leverage, which is highly beneficial for executing slow, high-precision panning arcs with heavy twelve-kilogram camera rigs.

Operational System Tips for the H45 and PH-6B Combo:

💡 Isolating Rig Weight via Base Sockets: The lower stationary casting of the H45 head features dedicated one-quarter inch twenty and three-eighths inch sixteen female accessory threads. When mounting heavy directors' monitors, audio receivers, or wireless video transmitters, bolt your articulating magic arms directly into these base holes instead of attaching them to your camera's top cage. Because these base holes remain completely stationary, the weight of your accessories will not alter the camera's center of gravity or throw off your finely tuned counterbalance settings during vertical tilts.

  • Calibrating the Leverage Point: When working with a maximum twelve-kilogram payload near the limit of the head's weight capacity, extend your PH-6B pan handle out to its maximum nineteen-inch length. Increasing the physical distance between your hand and the pivot column changes the lever mechanics, reducing the physical muscle effort required to initiate or stop heavy panning moves.

Cheaply made but functional
Color: Black
Pros: The headrest is highly adjustable. Even if you're tall you'll likely be able to tilt it so that you can rest your head on it while reclining. The instructions for putting it together are easy to follow. It's perfectly serviceable as a desk chair with no glaring defects. The mesh material keeps your body cool and dry even when sitting in it all day. Cons It's obviously very lightweight and cheaply made. This does make the chair easier to move, but this doesn't really feel like a $180 chair at all. More like a $120 or even $100 chair. The chair back is attached to the chair seat by a plastic bracket. Nearly every desk chair I've had in the past has had their back attached to the bottom with a metal bracket, and even those start to bend out of shape after a year or so. While reclining a good portion of your weight will be resting on this plastic bracket, and I simply cannot see this cheap plastic lasting for very long supporting anyone's body weight over a long period of time. If you buy this chair, make sure to get the warranty. The armrests are closer together than on most chairs, which creates a claustrophobic feeling of being squeezed by them. You get used to it eventually, and you can just put the armrests up if you want to, but a way to adjust the armrest width would have been nice. The lumbar support doesn't really do anything at all. It only presses against my back at the most intense setting, and even then not very much. There is no incremental recline setting. Either you are fully reclined, or sitting fully upright. Luckily the full recline setting is about perfect for me, but for a $180 chair you'd expect a bit more settings here.

Great Chair
Color: Black
Very comfortable chair! I’m a big guy - 6’ 2”, 285 lbs. and it fits me perfectly. The head rest is a nice touch and I appreciate it more than I thought I would. Lumbar support is in just the right position and is adjustable (more support vs. less support). It does adjust up and down but not very much. Was also super simple to put together although I did have to crank on the screws that attach the back of the arm rest to the back of the chair. If you’re looking for a place to plant your butt for 8 hours, this is your chair.

DO NOT BUY! DO NOT BUY! DO NOT BUY!

Absolute garbage chair. Only had for six month and the mesh on the seat has already come apart after using it for my home office. Chair was squaking after only three months and now I can't even sit in it cause it sags. Can't even get my money back for this cheap garbage.

The adjustable lumbar support, armrests, and headrest make it easy to customize for a comfortable fit, and the mesh design helps keep the chair breathable throughout the day. Overall, this chair is comfortable, ergonomic, and a great value for a home office setup.
