‘ ہے۔ اس میں ایک مقدمے میں انگریز مرد اور عورت کو سزائے موت ہوئی۔ دونوں نے مل کر عورت کے خاوند کو قتل کیا تھا۔ سزا دینے والے سیشن کورٹ اور ہائی کورٹ کے جج ہندوستانی تھے۔ لوگوں کا خیال تھا کہ سپریم کورٹ میں اس سزا پر عملدرآمد رُک جائے گا۔ سپریم کورٹ کے انگریز ججوں نے نچلی عدالتوں کے فیصلے کی توثیق کی۔

انگریز مرد ملکہ برطانیہ کے رشتہ داروں میں سے تھا۔ ملکہ اُس کی سزا میں تخفیف کا قانونی حق رکھتی تھی۔ اُس نے بھی عدالتوں کے فیصلے پر مہر تصدیق ثبت کی اور یوں دونوں انگریز مرد اور عورت تختۂ دار پر لٹکائے گئے۔

 اُن کی تہذیب کی درخشاں علامت اُن کا انصاف تھاجس می وہ اپنے قانون سے روگردانی نہیں کرتے تھے۔ اُن کا قانون مجرم کو پکڑتا تھا اور اُسے اُس کے سماجی مقام سے الگ کرکے سزا دیتا تھا۔ اُن کے نظامِ عدل و انصاف نے اپنے بیشتر ضابطے اسلامی قانون سے اَخذ کیے ہوئے تھے۔
