Sophisticated musicianship, imaginative lyrics, and a flair for melody are signatures of the sound of Monkey House, a sound that has earned the group serious critical acclaim, peer respect, and a steadily expanding international following. Those characteristics are again evident on 'Friday', on ALMA Records. It is the fifth full-length release from the L.A./Toronto combo that has just celebrated the notable milestone of 25 years of playing together. Adding to the comfort level in the studio for the recording of Friday was the return of the team of co-producer Peter Cardinali and engineer John 'Beetle' Bailey, reprising their roles from previous Monkey House records. Cardinali also plays bass on four tracks. All but two of the tracks on Friday are solo Don Breithaupt compositions. "Book Of Liars", is a cover of a song by Steely Dan's Walter Becker. "As a lifelong Steely Dan fan, Walter's death hit me hard," says Don. "I thought it'd be a nice gesture to do one of his." This generous 12-song collection sounds cohesive, while possessing enough musical twists and turns to keep things interesting. As has become the norm on MH records, Friday features some notable guests. Guitarist Drew Zingg (Boz Scaggs) and trumpeter Michael Leonhart (Steely Dan) have guested on previous albums and make tasteful contributions here, as does François D'Amours (Gino Vannelli), and Snarky Puppy guitarist Mark Lettieri. Ground Up artist Lucy Woodward (Rod Stewart) adds background vocals throughout, while famed vocal quartet The Manhattan Transfer add their magic to the choruses of 'The Jazz Life.' It's hard to mistake the sound of those four incredible voices together." Don notes, 'I have a tradition of having at least one poppy, quirky, outlier track on an album. This time, it's '(I Wanna Ride) Shotgun,' which is designed to be fun and funky and stick in people's heads.' It's a tune as warm and breezy as a Malibu drive in a vintage convertible.

Perfect sheepskin rug

This sheepskin rug is fabulous! I have it over my office chair and I LOVE it. It does not shed, it stays in place and fits over the seat and up the entire back of the chair with a bit remaining to hang over the edge. My cat sleeps on it every chance he gets. Great value for the price! Just looking at it brings me joy, such a beautiful sheepskin.

Dog ignores, but I like

I bought this for my dog, who is old and has creaky joints. My dog prefers to continue resting in uncomfortable places that put my plants in peril. He does not ever recline on this dead sheep and looks at me as though I am the sheep slaughterer.
Spouse asked if it came in bigger sizes. Since this is the skin of a dead sheep, it depends on live sheep girth. Anything bigger would likely have to be sewn together from multiple dead sheep.
I find the girth of this sheep pelt perfectly acceptable. It is nice and thick and soft and fairly easy to vacuum. I frequently recline on it when stretched out on the floor, and am grateful it does not leave a mess or make noise like my dog, who should be grateful that his pelt is still attached to his body.

SHRINK Wrapped. NO Customer Support.

These arrived shrink wrapped and when put down as throw rugs, are lumpy. They are a little less so after 10 minutes on air fluff in the dryer.
They look nice and fit my bedroom well but I’m concerned about walking over them since I prefer a level surface that is even.
Customer support does NOT exist. There appears to be a chat option but there are no responses.
Reading other information, I’ve decided to try a metal comb. So now I’m waiting for that to arrive.
If it wasn’t so difficult to deal with the size difference, I would have simply returned them. I may still and just purchase a return container.

100 % genuine sheepskin.

Just received today. Beautiful sheepskin rug. 100 percent natural long fibers. As the listing states..."it has the wrong labei". That must be why the "experts" complained. Out of several rugs i own, this one is the nicest. Slight smell but airing it out will take care of that.

Overall good quality

I was pleasantly surprised by the thickness of this rug. No bad smell coming off it. I like the leather backing on it. Wasn't as soft/fluffy straight out the bag but a quick brush fixed that issue for me. So far even with the brushing there is minimal shedding. Bought as a gift for my husband but my son enjoys it.
