Produced by the band and mixed by Charles Spearin (Broken Social Scene), Ancestors is the follow-up to Völur's celebrated debut, Disir, which was hailed as "a winsome blend of pastoral folk, gentle prog, atmospheric doom, and old world magic" by Noisey. Just as Disir dealt with themes surrounding female figures from mythology, Ancestors focuses on the heroines' male counterparts and is the second part of a planned four album series spotlighting various elements of the old Germanic spiritual world. Völur's songs are long, quasi-narrative pieces that feature Laura C. Bates' violin assuming the role traditionally executed by a guitar, allowing the bass playing of Lucas Gadke (also of Blood Ceremony) to take on unique responsibilities in both lead and melodic roles while drummer Jimmy Payment (Do Make Say Think) feeds the band's bombastic, crushing oomph. Doom music (not necessarily metal) is about slow contemplation and the transfixing power of heaviness and Völur's weighty riffs, layers of feedback, dynamic, angular melodies and moments of beauty give heed to the band's promise to always seek newer modes of musical expression and discovery. Moving between high-tension heaviness and beautiful pastoral moods, Völur aims to reflect the world of primordial nature inspired by ancient myths and chilling poems of death and heroism. Ancestors takes you into a world of stories that have been shrouded by the fog of ages. But there's nothing obscure about this album: it is the statement of an ambitious band defining their sonic territory. This is music as profound sound... prepare!

Good value for a powerful fan.

Powerful fan. It’s just a 100 square foot room but you can feel the fan clear across the room. The unit feels durable but it is also extremely lightweight. Easy to move room to room. The fan can face straight ahead or angle to face upwards. It is easy to change the angle of the fan, simply tilt the body and it clicks into place. It does not face downward. When faced upwards it does well to circulate air around the room. It is somewhat loud on higher settings but that is to be expected. At $14.99 this was priced a bit lower than similar units. It’s a good value so far as it is performing well.

Reliable Cooling Power for My Workspace

This Honeywell TurboForce fan has been a perfect addition to my home office on Staten Island, providing a surprising amount of airflow for such a compact unit. The three speed settings allow me to adjust the intensity based on how warm the room gets, and I’ve found the 90-degree pivoting head incredibly useful for circulating air without having it blow directly on my desk papers. Small but powerful

This is a small but powerful, 3-speed fan with a 90 degree pivoting head. It's also good looking, lightweight, sturdy, and quiet. The controls are easy to reach and manipulate. The lowest speed was actually too powerful for the location I had in mind for it but I highly recommend it for anyone wanting to cool a room. You can easily cool a small room on just the lowest setting. I'm sad I have to return it but I need something a little less powerful for my desired location.

Smells amazingly like cherry, but expect a mess under the feeder.

This is a fantastic budget seed blend to keep your backyard feeders full during the busy seasons. I put a banana in the picture next to this massive 10-pound bag for scale, though I wouldn't recommend leaving the fruit out there unless you want to feed the local raccoons instead. The most surprising part of this bag is the smell—it has a very strong, sweet cherry scent right out of the bag that genuinely seems to bring in the local cardinals and blue jays faster than plain seed.
THE GOOD:
• The cherry flavoring actually works as an attractant, and the sheer volume of seed you get for the price makes this an excellent value for high-traffic yards.
• It brings in a huge variety of ground-feeding birds, especially mourning doves and juncos.
THE TRADE-OFF:
• This is a "value" mix, which means it contains a very high percentage of filler seeds like milo and cracked corn. Finicky songbirds will actively kick the milo out of the hanging feeder to get to the black oil sunflower seeds, creating a massive pile of rejected seed on the ground.
THE BOTTOM LINE:
A great-smelling, budget-friendly birdseed that attracts a ton of wildlife, provided you don't mind the ground-feeders cleaning up the mess underneath.
