  • A lively introduction to and history of international contemporary art from 1960 to the present
  • What does it mean? Is it really art? Why does it cost so much? While these questions are perpetually asked about contemporary art, they are not the questions that E. H. Gombrich set out to answer in his seminal book The Story of Art. Contemporary art is very different from what came before. From the 1960s, where Gombrich’s account concludes, artists began to abandon traditional forms of art and started to make work that questioned art’s very definition. This is where Godfrey picks up the story
  • Developments in contemporary art have followed no straightforward line of progress or sequence of movements. Recognizing this, Tony Godfrey creates a narrative from a series of often dramatic creative conflicts and arguments around what art is or should be. From object versus sculpture and painting versus conceptual to local versus global, gallery versus wider world, The Story of Contemporary Art traces a history in terms of drastic changes in social and political life over the last sixty years
  • How do we experience being human in a world that seems to change so quickly? In exploring art’s relationship to this question, Godfrey asserts that multiple voices must be heard: critics, theorists, curators and collectors, but also audiences and artists themselves. Key to the book is the story of how a perception that art was made almost exclusively by white men from North America and Western Europe has been radically overturned. Compelling and intelligent, but never academic, this book tells us how

Sturdy and Easy to Move
Color: Black, Size: 132"- 6 Panel
This 6 ft black partition on wheels is exactly what I needed to divide space without sacrificing style or stability. It’s sleek, professional-looking, and blends in well with any environment—from office spaces to home studios. The build quality is impressive—very sturdy and doesn’t wobble at all once it’s in place. The wheels glide smoothly and lock securely, making it easy to reposition or keep stationary as needed. Assembly was quick and straightforward, with all parts clearly labeled. Overall, this partition is a perfect combination of functionality and design. Highly recommend it if you need a durable, mobile room divider that looks great and performs even better.

Nice once put together.
Color: Black, Size: 88"- 4 Panel
I really enjoyed these ones. They got put up, putting them together was a two-man task and not very easy at all. They work really good. They're very heavy duty. You can hang things on them. I kick mine out of the way and they work like a charm!

Great privacy screen
Size: 6 Panel-119"W, Color: Beige
I have a studio apartment and the bathroom is in my bedroom. I bought this to section the area off so guests can use my bathroom without seeing my entire bedroom. This is perfect for that! It looks very nice and offers alot of privacy. The screen is fabric and good quality! I’m a middle aged woman and put it together myself in about 2 hours. Love this!!!

Nice divider 6 panel with wheels.
Size: 6 Panel-119"W, Color: Black, Size: 6 Panel-119"W, Color: Black
The wall works great , and I put it together by myself. I only gave it what I did because I have to move one or two of the panels on one end around a bit daily to make an opening to pass through. I find I have to check the screws that hold those legs/feet on frequently and retighten them. Beyond that everything was pretty good quality. (I ended up magnetizing an Allen wrench to one of the feet.) I also put on motion lights to the rollers so you’ll see them and don’t trip.
