Who better to follow up the greatest of all library LPs (The Big Beat/ KPM1044) than Alan Moorhouse, a twisted genius whose musical output clearly proves that he couldn't have given a monkey's what anyone thought of him. From unlistenable marching band versions of Chirpy Chirpy Cheep Cheep, to an entire album of demented Tijuana styled hymns to the hard hitting funk of his work for KPM, Moorhouse would surely have shocked and amazed us with more musical mayhem had his life not been tragically cut short at the end of the 1970s.Originally released 1970 as KPM1067, The Big Beat 2 has some mighty shoes to fill but effortlessly delivers the goods and in some ways it even betters it's more illustrious predecessor. The decidedly Meters-esque Pop Pastime, the classic Expo In Tokyo and the ridiculously heavy drum break at the start of Soul Skimmer would be enough to make most record collectors hand over a weeks pay, but add the hard rocking Heavy Bopper and mind bending Psychodale and you have an album that can carry the Big Beat name with pride.
Tracks:
1.1 That's Nice
1.2 West Coastin
1.3 Pop Pastime
1.4 Boss Man
1.5 Soul Skimmer
1.6 Heavy Bopper
1.7 Angelic Gas
1.8 Expo in Tokyo
1.9 Nashville Country
1.10 Hillbilly Child
1.11 Rock It Again
1.12 Rockin Boogie
1.13 Pop Mandolin

Wow, Wow Wow, wonderful book! You won't be able to put down.
Format: Paperback
Enemies to lovers Collin and Olivia are the perfect pair in an opposite attracts that really hits on all cylinders! After a fire Olivia tries to get her feet back on the ground and moves in with her brother and Collin. Collin just seems to have everything together and Olivia, well not so much. But the more they banter the more the heat is turned up and they stumble into something they are both not sure of. Plenty of mis understandings on both sides and the plot device of mis texting is taken to a high degree, but oh when all is straightened out the HEA is the best. As author Painter knew we needed more, the bonus scenes are oh so satisfying. Great, great book!

Fun light RomCom
Format: Paperback
Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 4/5
Spice rating: 🌶 1.5/5🥵
Read if you like the following tropes:
• Enemies to Lovers
• Brother's best friend
• RomCom
• Forced proximity.
"So tell me exactly what you're wearing"
It has been WAY too long since I've read a RomCom and this was THE perfect book to remind me how much I missed them!
I read this book in one day simply because I could not put it down or stop thinking about it.
"Mr. Wrong number: I texted the wrong number, didn't I?
Me: Yeah, you did :)"
This was such a light, fun, quick read that had me laughing.
"I'd gone from finding her the most annoying girl in the planet to being inexplicably obsessed with her. "
Loved the duel POV and how because the two MC's know each other, you not only got 🔥 banter between Colin and Olivia but also between Mr. Wrong number and Misdial
(2x the 🔥 banter??? SIGN ME UP🙋♀️)
"She was the first thing I thought of when I woke up in the morning, and the last thing before I feel asleep. I would blow off anything to be with her, because everything was brighter when Olivia was around. "
I Loved Olivia's disastrous luck, her passion for writing and live in the moment spirit.
And I Loved the whole plot and texting element to the story .
The one character I couldn't stand was Olivia's mother🙄😡 ugh.
IYKYK
I look forward to reading more from Lynn Painter as I really enjoyed her writing style.

Disappointing with too much "sturm und drang".
Format: Kindle
I was disappointed after the joy of "Happily Never After". I found both characters unpleasant. I've known people like her who broke everything they touched, and had zero consideration other people's property. She always refused to accept responsibility. It was always "Not my fault", or blaming the victim for the valuable she just destroyed. She's not funny. She's not honest, and she's not appealing. And he is a bit of a door mat, letting his father say the most awful things and not setting him straight and walking away.
It's a pity because the premise is good and frequently hilarious, but she's a walking, talking red flag.

Mr. Wrong Number & Ms. Miss Dial
Format: Kindle
Lynn Painter has quickly become my go-to rom-com author, and Mr. Wrong Number is pure fun from start to finish. A wrong-number text turns into a flirty, anonymous connection that’s impossible not to love. Olivia is messy and relatable, Colin is slow-burn perfection, and the banter is sharp, swoony, and totally addictive.
If you love texting mishaps, flirty sparks, and romances that feel real, this one’s a must-read. 💕📱
