Souffle Continu Records present the first ever vinyl reissue of Free Jazz Workshop's Inter Fréquences, originally released in 1973. The Free Jazz Workshop came into being in 1967 but their first album, Inter Fréquences, only appeared in 1973. Unfortunately there is no recorded trace of the group including the first drummer Pierre Guyon before he was replaced by Christian Rollet in 1970. One of the slogans doing the rounds at the time sets the tone: "Aesthetic liberation is but a prelude to the liberation of humanity." The trajectory of the Free Jazz Workshop (which became the Workshop de Lyon in 1975 with the arrival of clarinetist-saxophonist Louis Sclavis) is emblematic of the emancipation of the mindset of certain French musicians during this period. It has been an exceptionally long-lived trajectory a "half-century" as the members say, during which the group - in Christian Rollet's own words - went from being "an exploratory workshop who claimed to take no account of the musical certitudes of the majority" to becoming something of a classic institution. Right from this first album it is clear that the group would function as a collective with no designated leader. The legacy and influence of American free jazz can be heard throughout: Albert and Don Ayler, or Ornette Coleman and Don Cherry for the horns of Maurice Merle and Jean Mereu; Cecil Taylor for the pianist Patrick Vollat, absent from the group after the second album released in 1975 La Chasse de Shirah Sharibad (FFL 032LP); Gary Peacock and Barre Phillips for the bass; Sunny Murray or Milford Graves for the rhythmic agitation; but also the Art Ensemble Of Chicago for the collective aspect. This lyrical, incandescent album, alongside those released by François Tusques and the Cohelmec Ensemble at the same period, represents one of the high points of free jazz produced by French musicians. No Mess, Lots of Fun!

My dog absolutely loves these toys! The squeakers and crinkle sounds keep him entertained for hours, and I appreciate that they have no stuffing—so no messy cleanup when he plays a little rough. The variety pack is great because it gives him different animals to choose from, and the toys are surprisingly durable even with lots of chewing.
They’re lightweight, easy for him to carry around, and perfect for playtime or keeping him busy when I’m working. Definitely a great value for the price, and I’ll be buying again when he wears them out. Highly recommend!

Great

These are big deal toys for our dogs. Use them when have to go out for a whole day. Have bought three sets over about two years. Takes them a several days to gut and get to the squeaker. They keep the skin around for months if we let them.

Great Interactive Toy for My Dogs

I have four dogs with different personalities and energy levels, and these toys have been a fun addition to our home. The two dogs in the photos were the first to test them, and they immediately started sniffing, searching, and working to get the treats hidden inside.
The toys are soft, well-made, and provide great mental stimulation. I like that they keep my dogs entertained while encouraging them to use their noses and problem-solving skills. The treat compartments work best with small training treats, and the toys have held up well during regular play.
Overall, this has been a great enrichment toy for my pack. If you have small or medium-sized dogs that enjoy treat puzzles and interactive toys, I would definitely recommend giving these a try.
The two pups in the photos approved them right away, and the other two quickly joined the fun!

Great toy for our mouthy chewing very active dog - he loves it and so do we!

Great buy!
Dog is very mouthy, so got this to try to focus chewing on a toy rather than me, and he loves it.
Pockets are a little small for many treats, but they do hold very small ones tucked into each triangle - (16 small treats total between the two toys), and rolls up with a strong velcro which holds pretty well. Dog will forcefully wedge his nose into the roll trying to get to the treats and it doesn't unroll until he works it over.
Wasn't positive how well it would hold up - he is a very mouthy puppy who is very strong and likes to shred, but out of all the toys, it has held up some of the best (on par with the kong toys so far) where others are not faring so well. He has pulled and tugged at the eyes, feet and ears repeatedly, and they are still firmly attached and no fraying on the treat spots at this time. He throws this thing around playing by himself and aside from being dirty now being one of his favorite toys, it looks as good as new. The only problem we have had is one of the squeakers no longer squeaks as he seems to have managed to remove that part of the noisemaker - but no holes, no rips, no shreds, nothing else showing wear and tear.
He has even used it for tug of war on occasion and though we didn't let that last too long, it showed no signs of tearing or ripping from that either.

Keeps pups busy!
