This part came about from one of our sponsored racers, Kyle Chaney that races in TORC series and was the 2017 Season Champion. 

A line of parts needed to be developed specifically for his car as the beatings they take are unbelievable.  So we had to develop a part to replace the factory bulkhead, build something stronger, but a bulkhead that wasn't going to weigh much more than stock.  What we came up with was our MOAB (mother of all bulkheads) bulkhead.  This is built from 3 different pieces of grade 50 steel, CNC formed and then welded together.  We bump formed the front edge to mimic the shape of the factory tube while adding double the rigidity and strength that the tube offers.   We thought of every way that the force would be transmitted through this and added strength to the areas that needed it, and took material away where we could afford it to additional drop weight.  The MOAB has been abused over and over in TORC, is holding strong and still looks great.  We spent some time converting it over to a production part that is affordable to everyone, not just factory racers.  This bulkhead does have the holes cut in it to bolt to the gusset block in our 6 piece X3 gusset kit.
