The VC-10 is a polyphonic 20-band vocoder which was produced by Korg between 1978 and 1982. Use the microphone Feed it your voice (or any other interesting sound source) and synthesise it! That is, control the sound of the synth with your voice. You can even put other sounds through its filters which will then be processed by the vocoder. This basically means you can use it as a talk-box with a guitar, for example or you can use it to add a twist to your drum loops. There's also a nice little analog VCU input meter. This machine is capable of those Daft Punk, Chemical Brothers and Kraftwerk vibes. It sounds great and is a lot of fun.
It has been used by Rick Wakeman (Yes & Black Sabbath), Richard Wright (Pink Floyd), Goldfrapp, Boys Noize, Tycho, Air, Junkie XL, Royksopp, Soulwax, Jean Michel Jarre, Tangerine Dream, Eddie Rayner (Crowded House, Split Enz), Apollo 440, Isao Tomita & More!
Condition:
• This VC-10 has been used.
• This VC-10 is in good condition for its age. There are some signs of general wear, including some nick and scratches. There is dent on the top of the unit. Nothing major, and there is nothing which detracts from the use or sound of this awesome vocoder! Please see all photos.
• This unit has has been serviced and we can confirm it is fully functional. All the pots are clean and smooth. Keys are nice and responsive. It sounds great and is fun to use!
• Please be aware this unit is 117V. This means it MUST be used with a step-down transformer, not a travel adaptor. If you are unsure about this please let us know. We have some great, compatible step-downs for sale HERE. They are designed in Australia for use in Australia and can be run 24/7.
• If you purchase from outside Australia you may need a step-down transformer to use this unit. Please contact us if you need any help sourcing the correct product.
• This sale is for VC10 only. Nothing else is included.
