This is an Extra Large Oriental Style Living Room Sized Rug in Pink, Brown, Red, Cream andBlue/ Green measuring 11 ft 2 inch x 8 ft 3 inch (342 cm x 253 cm) This is a magnificent example of the finest Oriental-influenced Oriental Carpets woven by Nomadic and Tribal Village Weavers in Far South Eastern Anatolia, Turkey in the mid 20th Century. The intricate, floral and arabesque design motifs woven onto a single color base and which are complimented by equally delicate, but more geometric, border strips and corner quarter patterns are characteristic of the cultural influences which passed across borders and cultures during this time and explain why these rugs are more reminiscent of Oriental productions than Traditional Turkish ones.
This rug has been naturally sun faded and the pile reduced to facilitate ease of placement under furniture and cleaning. This rug is, however, still very substantial, weighing over 26 kgs. It would be most suitale for use under a Dining Table or in a large Lounge or Bedroom.
