Deze wijn is volledig gemaakt van Nebbiolo en voldoet aan de strengere rijpingsvereisten van Barbaresco Riserva DOCG.

De wijngaard Santo Stefano ligt binnen de MGA Albesani in de gemeente Neive.

Druif en vinificatie

Nebbiolo – Albesani Vigna Santo Stefano, Neive
Nebbiolo is een laatrijpende druif met hoge natuurlijke zuurgraad en uitgesproken tannines. In 2012 zorgden warme, droge zomermaanden voor geconcentreerde druiven met rijpe structuur en evenwichtige zuren.

De vinificatie vindt plaats met gecontroleerde extractie om kleur en tannines in balans te brengen. Aansluitend rijpt de wijn gedurende minimaal 50 maanden, conform de Riserva-regelgeving, waardoor complexiteit en verfijning verder toenemen.

Karakter en rijpingspotentieel van 2012

In het glas toont deze Barbaresco Riserva 2012 een granaatrode kleur met evolutie richting baksteenachtige tinten, passend bij zijn ontwikkeling. De jaargang staat bekend om rijp rood fruit, rozen, specerijen en aardse nuances. Dankzij de combinatie van geconcentreerd fruit, rijpe tannines en lange rijping heeft deze wijn zich inmiddels ontwikkeld met secundaire en tertiaire aroma’s, terwijl hij nog steeds bewaarpotentieel bezit.

Serveer rond 16–18 °C om structuur en aromatische complexiteit optimaal tot hun recht te laten komen.
