Al meer dan honderd jaar is Texels Eigen Stoomboot Onderneming (TESO) de onmisbare schakel tussen Texel en de rest van de wereld. Sinds 1907, het jaar van de oprichting, is er veel veranderd. Konden er op de eerste boten enkele tientallen passagiers en een verdwaalde auto, op het nieuwste schip is ruimte voor maar liefst 1750 passagiers en 350 auto’s. Over een bedrijf met zo’n rijke historie is veel te vertellen.

De Texelse journalisten Joop Rommets en Nico Volkerts doken in de geschiedenis en spraken met (oud-)medewerkers. Samen met prachtige foto’s uit het TESO-archief leverde dat een verzameling pareltjes op.
